My path
Hi, I’m a Bengali-American actress in NYC! I tell stories about medicine, immigrants, and women finding their voice. My short film When You Are Ready has screened at several festivals, and I’m writing a feature about an oncologist who falls for her patient—because love isn’t always by the book.

Before acting, I worked in everything from coffee shops to public health—and I’m also a pediatrician. But the moment I stepped into acting, I knew I’d found where I truly belong.

I believe everyone deserves a chance at their dreams. We all deserve to be seen—fully and unapologetically.

Current Project
Salwa and Tova Hopemark are collaborating on a feature film. Here's the log line: When a death-obsessed South Asian oncologist falls in love with her full-of-life cancer patient, she must choose between saving her medical license or her new girlfriend’s life.

Previous project

When You are Ready is an independent SAG microbudget drama/comedy short film. The story is about a medical interpreter who finds herself between an earnest physician and a Bengali woman brought in for domestic violence. Though the topic is heavy, there are fun moments as the characters assess and understand each other. See the trailer below!
